Hollie Hughes created CAN after her middle child, Fred, was diagnosed with autism and she saw how difficult it was to find relevant information. With a background in politics and public affairs, Hollie set out to create an organisation that would raise awareness of autism and the additional challenges living in the bush presents. Hollie was also fiercely determined to ensure parents received information about best practice therapy options, helping them to avoid the charlatans and snake oil salesman more focused on funding than helping!
Hollie has returned to the full time workforce after a number of years running a full time ABA program for Fred who now attends mainstream school. She works for Executive Search firm Salt & Shein. She lives with her husband Stewart and their three children in Moree.
